Uhlaender ninth in women's skeleton World Cup season opener

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Nov. 9, 2017)- Katie Uhlaender (Breckenridge, Colo.) was Team USA’s top finisher in the season opening World Cup women’s skeleton race this morning, taking ninth on home ice in Lake Placid. Americans Savannah Graybill (Denver, Pa.) and Kendall Wesenberg (Modesto, Calif.) took 11th and tied for 14th, respectively.

WHISTLER, Canada (Nov. 7, 2017)- Pilot Hunter Church (Cadyville, N.Y.), along with his crew of Hakeem Abdul Saboor (Powhatan, Va.), rookie Josh Williamson (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Lou Moreira (Somerville, Mass.), began the 2017-2018 season on a high note this weekend in Whistler by collecting a gold, a silver and two bronze medals in North American Cup (NAC) competition.

Pushing Valor: Nathan Weber's long road to the national team

Nathan Weber’s offseason training regimen looks different than most other athletes. It happens in places like Niger, Cameroon and Afghanistan. Instead of pushing bobsleds on a track, he makes do with trucks and ATV’s marked ‘United States Army.’ Sometimes he’s in deserts so hot he can’t lift until the wee hours of the morning because the bar will burn his hand. Other times, his workouts follow four days of sleeping in bug netting in a jungle.

USA Skeleton collects six medals in first North American Cup races of 2017-2018 season

WHISTLER, Canada (Nov. 5, 2017)- USA Skeleton got off to a strong start on the North American Cup (NAC) in Whistler this weekend, medalling five times in four races to kick off the 2017-2018 season. Kelly Curtis (Princeton, N.J.) won the first American gold medal of the young season while teammates Austin Florian (Southington, Conn.) and Samantha Culiver (Scottsdale, Ariz.) took two silvers apiece to lead Team USA. Veronica Day (Vienna, Va.) also earned a bronze medal in the season-opener.

O'Shea, Crumpton lead USA Skeleton in Intercontinental Cup opener

WHISTLER, Canada (Nov. 5, 2017)- Annie O’Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Nathan Crumpton (Park City, Utah) combined for three top-10 finishes in the opening races of the Intercontinental Cup (ICC) tour in Whistler, Canada this weekend. O’Shea finished fourth and seventh in the women’s competitions, while Crumpton took ninth and 11th in the men’s field to lead Team USA.

International bobsled and skeleton racing begins this weekend

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Nov. 1, 2017)- After months of offseason training and a competitive team selection process, international racing begins this weekend for USA Bobsled & Skeleton athletes competing on the Intercontinental Cup (ICC) and North American Cup (NAC) circuits. Athletes racing the World Cup circuit began an international training week on Monday in preparation for their season opener in Lake Placid, N.Y. Nov. 9-10.
