Vinntrans/HIG One Win Away From National Championship Title

No. 2 Vinntrans/HIG secured a spot in the Men’s Class D National Championship final on Sunday by beating No. 3 Oregon Outlaws 24-1 and Team Dynasty/G4G, the No. 1 seed, 15-14. With the wins, Vinntrans improved to 4-1, and the team now awaits the winner of the Outlaws and Team Dynasty 8 a.m. semifinal. The Championship is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Sunday. JMS was eliminated from the tournament Saturday after falling to Vinntrans and then losing to the Outlaws 8-4. The team out of Vernon, Ala., finished without a win in Oklahoma City after advancing to the National Championship from the Southern region. In the matchup between the top seeds, a bottom of the seventh inning rally from Vinntrans made the difference, with an offensive outburst that allowed the No. 2 seed to erase the 14-9 lead that Team Dynasty had. After a two RBI double from Craig Arrington and Patrick Arrington added an RBI double, Brett Walker singled through the right side to score P. Arrington and Butler scored, making it a 14-14 game. A Jason Walker double through the left side scored B. Walker, the winning run for Vinntrans. The game, which saw a seven running second inning and a six run seventh, marked the first loss for Team Dynasty (4-1).
