2018 Infantil Pan American Team Criteria
Pan American Infantil Championship: Guayaquil, Ecuador on November 15th thru 18th, 2018
Juvenile A (Sub 15) (Birth years 2004-2005)
Intermediate 2 (Sub 13) (Birth years 2006-2007)
The year 2018 will be important for “Infantil” age athletes (Juvenile A and Intermediate 2) throughout the Western Hemisphere as there will be Pan American Continental Championships held for both age groups.
The age divisions for 2018 include birth years 2004-2005 for the Juvenile A “Sub 15” category, and birth years 2006- 2007 for the Intermediate 2 “Sub 13” category, each of which will compete at the 2018 Infantil Pan American Championships.
- The contested weights for Juvenile A will be: Girls / Boys 36, 40, 44, 48, 53, 58, 64 and +64kg
- The contested weights for Intermediate 2 will be: Girls / Boys 28, 31, 34, 38, 42, 47, 52 and +52kg
The 2018 Infantil Pan American Championships will be held on November 2nd & 3rd, 2017. As of January 10th, 2018 USA Judo has not received the PJC technical package for the 2018 Pan American Infantil Championship.
“INFANTIL” PAN AMERICAN TEAM SELECTION TO BE COMPLETED AT END OF September 3rd, 2018
USA Judo is happy to announce that at the end of the day of September 3rd, 2018 the top four athletes in each division will be invited to represent USA the sequence that will identify the members of the 2018 Infantil “Sub 15” and “Sub 13” Pan American Team.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the 2018 “Sub 15” Juvenile A Pan American Judo Team, you must have been born 2004-2005, you must be a United States citizen, you must be a member of USA Judo, and if you are a recent citizen or hold dual citizenship, you must have secured the necessary approvals to be eligible to represent the United States Internationally.
In order to be eligible for the 2018 “Sub 13” Intermediate 2 Pan American Judo Team, you must have been born 2006- 2007, you must be a United States citizen, you must be a member of USA Judo, and if you are a recent citizen or hold dual citizenship, you must have secured the necessary approvals to be eligible to represent the United States Internationally.
HOW TO MAKE THE TEAM
The Four athletes who are the most highly ranked eligible athletes in each Juvenile A and Intermediate 2 weight category on the USA Judo Elite Athlete roster that is produced as of the close of the September 3rd, 2018 will be designated the “Sub 15” or “Sub 13” Pan American Team members. In event one or more of the highest ranked individuals decline, then the selection sequence will move down the roster as of close of September 3rd, 2018 until the spot can be filled.
