Tournament MVP Eric Eichhorst and fellow teammates from OTW/Elite made a comeback following yesterday’s 19-11 loss to DCL to force a rematch with the Virginia team in the Championship Game Sunday. DCL defeated Triad, 15-13, while OTW/Elite posted back-to-back wins over MOJO, 12-11, and Triad, 18-3, to earn a spot in the Championship Game on OGE Energy Field.

After claiming two wins, OTW/Elite kept the momentum going into the Championship Game after jumping out to an early lead on DCL and capturing a 21-6 victory, resulting in the “if-necessary” game. With 12 runs in the first three innings, OTW/Elite left no doubt about the eventual outcome. OTW/Elite'sRay Valencia who was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4, hitting a triple in the third inning and a single in the first, second, and fourth innings. Follow a 21-6 (four inning) win via run-rule, OTW/Elite and DCL took the field one last time to play the game that would be the deciding factor on who would be crowned National Champions.

In the Championship Game, both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 25 runs and 40 hits, including 19 extra base hits. The top of the first inning saw DCL take an early lead, 8-0. However, OTW/Elite brought home five runs during their at-bat in the first inning and proceeded to match that run total in the second. After three innings, OTW/Elite held a 13-11 lead and maintained their grip to keep DCL from scoring the next four innings which eventually helped them to secure their victory in the Men’s Class D division.
