Larry Amar (posthumously)

An Atlanta 1996 Olympian, Larry Amar represented the United States as an athlete and a member of the U.S. Army. He is a true American legend and hero.

Amar stood out as a player atan early age, having first represented with the U.S. Men’s National Team at the age of 16. He was also one of the few players to ever represent all three squads at the same time, playing on the U-18 USMNT, U-21 USMNT and senior USMNT concurrently. A native of California, he was part of the U.S. Men’s National Team programs from 1987-1999 and competed in more than 200 international matches. Those included multiple tours, Junior World Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, 1991 and 1995 Pan American Games and the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. He served as captain of the U-21 USMNT and senior USMNT. Also serving as captain of Team USA at the Atlanta Olympic Games, Larry was a two-time recipient of the USA Field Hockey Athlete of the Year Award in 1994 and 1995. Read more.

Lauren Crandall Liska

A three-time Olympian and captain of Team USA, Lauren Crandall Liska was first named to the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2005. She is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished athletes of her era. A defensive stalwart from Doylestown, Pa., she is the youngest of four children. As a young child, Lauren just wanted to be part of the family team and play with her older siblings and their friends. So she always put herself into competitions against her siblings, because if she wanted to play with them, or be involved, she had to be good enough. That competitive drive eventually led to her prowess on the world stage and a storied career as one of the best in women’s field hockey history. Read more.

Rachel Dawson

A three-time Olympian, Rachel Dawson is one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of the U.S. Women’s National Team. From her childhood home in Berlin, N.J., Rachel shared her competitive spirit, natural athleticism and a tiny bathroom with her siblings. Three of her sisters, Natalie, Sarah and Meghan, also played for the U.S. National Team. For Rachel, being part of a big team was second nature. The versatile defender, midfielder joined the senior team in 2005 and was a member of Team USA for the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She retired from the U.S. Women’s National Team shortly after competing in her last Olympic Games having played in 298 international caps.
