Six USABS athletes honored with federation's annual awards

Six USA Bobsled & Skeleton athletes received the federation’s annual awards on Saturday evening in Colorado Springs at the team's end-of-the-year banquet. The gala marked the culmination of USABS 2018 National Team Camp, and the chosen athletes were selected for their performance on the ice and their representation of the team's core values of teamwork, commitment and integrity.

USABS heads to Texas A&M next week in search of future Olympians

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (June 20, 2018)- When he graduated in 2016, Texas A&M football player Sam Moeller (Houston, Texas) missed the team environment that his sport provided. His aunt and uncle had encouraged him to try out for bobsled, but being from Texas, he didn’t know much about the sport.

Summer Series: Getting to know Jason Sturm

Virginia native Jason Sturm began para bobsledding in the sport’s inaugural season, taking the sport by storm by winning the first-ever para bobsled World Cup overall tour title. He has since been one of Team USA’s top sliders, most recently winning two medals on this year’s tour.

Summer Series: Getting to know Kellie Delka

Originally from Texas, skeleton athlete Kellie Delka found her way to the ice by way of a combine in Dallas. This past season, she competed on the European Cup, but has also raced on the Intercontinental Cup Circuit in her international career, which began on the North American Cup in 2012.

Three-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor soaking in post-Games experience

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (June 6, 2018)- Elana Meyers Taylor (Douglasville, Ga.) has had a busy couple of months.
She may be only several months off winning her third Olympic medal — a silver in women’s bobsled at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea — but two weeks ago, she received another honor that almost eclipsed her newest Olympic hardware.

Summer Series: Getting to know Nic Taylor

Nic Taylor’s road to the 2017-2018 men’s bobsled national team began in 2011 after watching his former Boise State University track teammate Nick Cunningham compete in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. It took him through meeting his future wife, Elana Meyers Taylor, a brief stint in skeleton, and back to bobsled, where he earned an alternate spot on the 2018 Olympic Team.

Park City to host first USABS combine of 2018

PARK CITY, Utah (May 28, 2018)- Just a few months after the Closing Ceremonies of the 2018 Olympics in South Korea, USA Bobsled & Skeleton is set to recruit its next batch of Olympic hopefuls this summer. The Utah Olympic Park will host the first of eight USABS combines on June 2 at Park City High School in Park City, Utah.
