Heather Richardson Takes World Title in 500m

In the first 500m for ladies Brittany Bowe was the first skater under 38, finishing in 37.997. She was paired with Thijsje Oenema (NED), whom she could chase. Oenema had opened in 10.460 and Bowe in 10.639. Just before the finish Bowe overtook the Dutch hope, who finished in 38.025. For the first time in history the times were presented in thousands of a second.

7 Medals for Team USA at World Single Distances

Brittany Bowe and Heather Richardson are going to have to clear some extra space in their suitcases to bring home all of their new hardware. This weekend was a huge triumph for Team USA, who collectively captured seven medals at the World Single Distance Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands.

The town of Roseville, Minnesota was recently treated to a weekend of fast racing and fresh talent. This year's Long Track Age Group Nationals attracted 98 participants across eight female and nine male age groups, ranging from Pony to Master.
