“The 2018 USA Judo Sr. Nationals Weekend was one to remember,” said Keith Bryant, USA Judo CEO. “The beautiful Round Rock Sports Center hosted a full day of shiai among seniors, VI World Team Trials and Veterans Competition on Saturday, followed by Kata on Sunday.  There were more of our senior able-bodied and VI athletes competing this year and more Olympians & Paralympians in attendance than in years past.  It was also great to see competitors like Roy Englert and Neal Takamoto return to the Sr. Nationals for the first time in decades, proving that judo is indeed a lifelong sport.  This year’s sold-out Night of Champions also was a fantastic event bringing together the USA Judo Family to recognize three volunteers of the year who made significant contributions to our sport.  Also, the first meeting of the American Judo Volunteer Network took place which will produce some new and helpful initiatives in the weeks ahead. Our sincere thanks go out to all the competitors, referees and volunteers who made this weekend so special. We look forward to seeing you again in Spokane!”

USA Judo’s next national tournament is the Junior Olympic National and International Championships in Spokane, WA on June 22-24, 2018.
