MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES
The 2020 U.S. Paralympic Team Trials for cycling, swimming and track and field have been rescheduled to take place June 17-19, 2021 in Minneapolis. The multi-sport trials will feature three days of competition followed by an announcement of who will represent Team USA at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, media access on-site will be reduced with strict mitigation policies in place to ensure the health and safety of athletes and personnel. The following protocols, designed by the USOPC’s Chief Medical Officer, are unlikely to be altered – even with updated CDC guidance or changes to local, county and state health mandates.

Tier 2 Media Access
In addition to the press viewing areas, media in tier 2 will have the opportunity to access areas within the field of play for all three sports. The FOP areas include access to mixed zones and photo positions.
To be eligible, media must follow the below guidelines:
* Complete two negative PCR, RT-PCR, or LAMP tests.
o Test 1: Should be taken and submitted between 4-6 days from the first day of competition you plan to be in attendance.
Testing availability, results timing and cost varies around the country. If you are interested in an approved at-home test (at cost), please visit this link.
o Test 2: Should be taken within 72 hours of the first day of competition that you plan to be in attendance. You may test on your own and submit proof or test through at the dedicated USOPC site listed below.

o Those who can provide proof of a confirmed COVID-19 case within the last 90 days will not need to complete testing.
* Arrive a minimum of 72 hours ahead of the first day of competition and limit interaction with the public during this time. Takeout and outdoor dining is permitted however indoor dining is prohibited.
* Starting June 7, you will need to submit daily symptom monitoring through an online application (details will be sent).
* Upon arrival, tier 2 will be checked for temperature and that all above steps have been completed.
* Masks and social distancing will be required.
* All photographers must sign up for tier 2 media access.
Tier 3 Media Access
Media in tier 3 will have access to separate check-in entrances (in most cases) and press viewing areas. Limited, socially distant mixed zone access will be available at both the track and field and cycling venues. There will be no mixed zone access at the swimming venue.
To be eligible for tier 3 access, media must follow the below guidelines:
* Symptom monitoring on the day of arrival through an online form (details will be sent).
* Upon arrival, tier 3 will be checked for temperature and symptom monitoring completion.
* Masks and social distancing will be required.
* Tier 3 access open to written press only.
Note: No tests or early 72-hour arrival will be required for tier 3 access, however access to athletes will be extremely distanced and limited (for outdoor sports only).
