Day 13 of the Pan American Games Lima 2019 brought the heat. The Julia Lonchar and Margaret Fellows won silver in the women's doubles sculls finals for the U.S. Rowing, the women of USA Archery continued to dominate in recurve, and it was an action-packed day for the men's and women's water polo teams. Plus, the women of USA Wrestling brought home three medals in all three of their weight classes.
The 18th Pan Ams continue until Aug. 11, featuring over 600 Team USA athletes, with multiple sports still up for qualification opportunities for the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The Women Of Recurve Are Medal Round Bound
Today, the rounds of 16 and eight wrapped up in individual women's recurve, and Team USA stood above the rest. Khatuna Lorig and Casey Kaufhold will compete against one another in the semifinals on Sunday. Earlier that day, Lorig, Kaufhold and Erin Mickelberry will compete women’s recurve team final for a chance at gold against Mexico.

The U.S. Men's & Women's Water Polo Team Advance to Semifinals
The U.S. women’s water polo team defeated hosts Peru, 21-3, in the quarterfinals. Maggie Steffens, Stephania Haralabidis and Alys Williams led the scoring with three goals each, while Ashleigh Johnson made seven saves in the first half.

The men's water polo team also faced host Peru, winning 24-2 . The squad was led by Alex Bowen and Ben Hallock, both with four goals for Team USA in the victory. The men will face Argentina in the semifinals on Friday, and the women will take on Cuba.
What Else Happened?
Today was a wildly exciting one for USA Track and Field. The athletes won nine medals in 10 events, including Sean Donnley's bronze medal in the men's hammer throw.

The U.S. women's basketball team continued its undefeated run, defeating Colombia 75-63. Beatrice Mompremier led the scoring for Team USA with 15 points.

The women of USA Wrestling put on a show on day two of competition. Whitney Conder, Sarah Hildebrandt and Jenna Burkert won gold, gold and silver, respectively, in their final matchups. Hildebrandt didn't give up a single point in the tournament en route to a 10-0 win in the championship.
