TABLE TENNIS: Team USA Sweeps Medals at Venezuela ITTF Hopes Boys Singles Tournament
The American team was superb at the International Table Tennis Federation Hopes Boy’s Singles Tournament in Valencia, Venezuela, April 19-23, where they collected the gold, silver and bronze medals. Team USA was led by champion Allen Wang (Turnersville, N.J.), runner-up Ethan Chua (Bakersfield, Calif.) and third-place finisher Jonathan Ou (Longwood, Fla.).

TABLE TENNIS: Californian’s Ariel Hsing Earns World No. 3 Ranking for Under-15 Girls
2010 U.S. Senior National Team member Ariel Hsing (San Jose, Calif.) earned the World No. 3 ranking for Under-15 Girls by the International Table Tennis Federation. Hsing, who was last rated No. 5, climbed up two position after winning the 2010 Italian Cadet Open for Cadet girl’s in late March.

TABLE TENNIS: Missouri’s Alexander Yao Falls Short in Qualifying for 2010 Youth Olympic Games
Auckland, New Zealand – Alexander Yao (Chesterfield, Mo.) attempted to qualify for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games by competing at the 2010 YOG International Qualification Event on April 10. Yao, the second-ranked American eligible for qualification, was 1-2 overall at the tournament.

USA Table Tennis Team Trials Features Young Male and Female Stars Michael Landers and Ariel Hsing
America’s star table tennis athletes Michael Landers (Old Westbury, N.Y.) and Ariel Hsing (San Jose, Calif.) will highlight the 2010 USA Table Tennis National Team Trials on March 4-5 at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. This youthful pair will be joined by 14 other top athletes as they vie for top honors of making the USA Table Tennis National Team.

New York’s Michael Landers Misses Qualification for Youth Olympic Games
San Salvador, El Salvador – Michael Landers (Old Westbury, N.Y.) fell short in qualifying for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games after the third day of table tennis at the Pan American Classifying Tournament. He still has several other opportunities to qualify the United States boy’s position later this year.

New York’s Michael Landers Finishes Second on Day 2 of Pan American Classifying Tournament for Youth Olympic Games
San Salvador, El Salvador – The United States boy’s table tennis team has one more chance of qualifying for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games at the Pan American Classifying Tournament. Michael Landers (Old Westbury, N.Y.) lost to Rodrigo Tapia of Ecuador, 4-3, in the best-of-seven finals competition.

California’s Ariel Hsing Qualifies for 2010 Youth Olympic Games
San Salvador, El Salvador – Ariel Hsing (San Jose, Calif.) qualified the United States in girl’s table tennis for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games by winning the Pan American Classifying Tournament on Monday. The 14-year-old star fought back from a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven games to claim her spot by defeating Caroline Kumahara of Brazil, 4-3.
