Orozco injures knee during Olympic training camp, withdraws from Olympic Team Leyva is named to 2016 men’s Olympic Team
John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y./Team Hilton (U.S. Olympic Training Center), injured his left knee on a horizontal bar dismount during the men’s Olympic Team Training Camp. Orozco has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus, which is the same injury to that knee that happened in October 2012. As a result, Orozco has withdrawn from the team, and Danell Leyva of Miami/Team Hilton (Universal Gymnastics) has been named to the team.

Biles wins all-around at 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials; U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics Team named in San Jose
Three-time World all-around champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, clinched an automatic berth to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after posting the highest two-day total in the all-around (123.250), at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in front of a sold-out crowd at the SAP Center at San Jose (Calif.).

USA Gymnastics announces women's gymnastics team for 2016 Olympic Games
USA Gymnastics today announced the five gymnasts and three replacement athletes that will comprise the U.S. Olympic Team for women's gymnastics that will compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, automatically qualified to the team at the conclusion of competition at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials for women’s gymnastics after winning the two-day all-around. The balance of the team and three replacement athletes were chosen by the Women's Selection Committee.

Biles leads the all-around rankings at mid-point of 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials –Gymnastics
Three-time World and four-time U.S. all-around champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, leads the all-around standings with a 61.850 total at the halfway point of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics at the SAP Center at San Jose (Calif.). Laurie Hernandez of Old Bridge, N.J./MG Elite, followed in second at 60.850, with 2012 Olympic gold-medalist Aly Raisman of Needham, Mass./Brestyan’s American Gymnastics, rounding out the top three with her 59.950. The field of 14 women is vying for the five-member U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics Team and replacement athlete spots. The U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics Team, pending United States Olympic Committee approval, will be named at the conclusion of competition on Sunday, July 10.
