U.S. men finish fifth at the 2016 Olympic Games The United States men’s team finished fifth with a score of 268.560 at the 2016 Olympic Games at the Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Japan earned gold with a 274.094, Russia took silver with a 271.453 and China earned bronze with a 271.122. Great Britain was fourth at 269.752. Competition continues tomorrow with the women’s team finals at 4 p.m. local time.

USA advances to womens gymnastics team final at 2016 Olympic Games The U.S. Olympic Team for women’s gymnastics advanced to the team final by finishing first in the qualification round at the 2016 Olympic Games, held at the Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, had the highest qualification score for the all-around, with Aly Raisman of Needham, Mass./Brestyan's American Gymnastics, in second. Competition continues tomorrow with the men’s team final at 4 p.m. Rio time; the U.S. women return to competition for team final on Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. Rio time.

WATER POLO US Men Fall To Croatia 7-5 In First Match At 2016 Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - August 6 - The U.S. Olympic Men's Water Polo Team opened play at the 2016 Olympic Games with a 7-5 loss to Croatia. Tony Azevedo (Long Beach, CA/Stanford/NYAC) scored two goals pushing Team USA to an early lead but Croatia used a 4-2 run in the second half to secure the victory. Merrill Moses (Palos Verdes, CA/Pepperdine/NYAC) and McQuin Baron (North Tustin, CA/USC/Regency) each played a half in goal, combining for 11 saves. Team USA returns to action on Monday when they meet Spain at 11:40am/10:40am et/7:40am pt. The match will air LIVE on NBC at 10:40am et and on delay at 10:40 am pt.

The women will compete in the fourth of five subdivisions on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 5:30 p.m., held at the Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The teams and individual gymnasts who will advance to the final rounds will be determined at the conclusion of the final subdivision. The gymnastics competition gets underway today, and the U.S. men take the floor in the second of three subdivisions on at 2:30 p.m. Rio time.
